Drops keep falling on my head
Finally. Cold enough to change from my standard GORE-TEX to a full size parka. As they say in the commercials, “Now, that’s cold!”. The bus line decided to test my decision by sending the 255 along with a fifteen minute delay, and I hardly noticed. Except for my cheeks, but that’s not covered by the parka, in design or description.
Funny how we treat the first real cold days as if we had never experienced such a thing before… every year. It’s normal (if uncomfortable). The same reaction will be “out there” when the summer sweat is back. Even the parking lot at the office; emptier than it should be, given that we’re paid to show up. Blame it on your weak batteries. More likely that warm bedcovers were the root cause.
The puddle in my cubicle had nothing to do with my boots. Look up! Once again, the ceiling has decided to drip right where I want to sit. And with an empty cubicle nearby (glitch), I simply moved the CPU and the telephone and the log pad and… the shorter version is that I didn’t have to move my monitors. And with a recycle bin strategically placed to PLOCK! all day long, I got down to work. People assumed I was absent (even though I was sitting only metres away), and the pace was becalmed.
Saw my first iPad Mini tablets today. Think “shrunken”. As one person noted, it’s a better size for lugging around than the larger (original) model. I’m not going to pitch pennies for one, but if downsizing is ever required, it’s a viable option.
