Wandering from beach to headland

posted in travel |

I stayed the course. I pulled wires,  by myself, and I checked for pilot lights on switches and in the end I restored network service to the weather station. All is good here. Now on to other emergencies.

We’re waiting for a snowstorm to start. So far, a lot of powder on the car, and no need for the plow to pass. Maybe if I knew how, I could “whistle up a wind”, but this time around it scores about 2 out of 10. No big deal.

Watched a strange movie this afternoon, called The Decoy Bride. The scenery “spoke” to me, even while the plot line wandered all over the place. Maybe I want to visit lots of islands with windswept beaches and rock outcrops, as a retirement plan. No tropical weather required (I’m more accustomed to nonstarter snowstorms). In the industrious version of the dream, I own a sailboat, but that’s not a requirement. After all, you have to moor the boat while you head on over to the headland. Might as well save a step and use public transportation.

The tree that blocked my view of the TV is gone. Boxed and basemented, (it’s a word!!) until the need arises again. Perhaps a year from now.

In the news, someone is accusing the producers of Glee of high treason. That is, they may have used an arrangement of a song that strongly resembles one that he did. For the record, this is not his song; he didn’t write it, or produce it. He sang a cover version, an acoustic one. He now believes that the “soon to be televised” version. If he decides to sue, I wish him luck. Lawyers are expensive.
