Feeding an XML file, over and over again
It was inevitable. Anybody who has two autobiographies before the age of eighteen has a plan. The Bieb has made the cover of the most recent issue of MacLean’s with a quote: “I want to be the next Michael Jackson”. Don’t think I’ll hold my breathe waiting.
Supper time was distracted (today). After discovering an app for my Android phone that can display the feed from the weather station, I was keen to get things working. There’s an XML file that does something, and my closest programmer suggested checking server side. So I did. Except that I neglected the steaks that were cooking, and had to settle for a supper that was crispy and Cajun-black on one side. Still edible (by my standards). Not ready to be shared with others, although the dog was keen to be a beta tester.
In passing, if the XML is loaded with data and transferred to the web server, things work fine. I just haven’t got the “periodic” characteristic under control. Tomorrow.
I also loaded a pedometer app on the phone, and now I’ll have proof that I lead a sedentary lifestyle. Not a positive thing, but if I start marching up and down the hallways at work, others may notice. I’ll have to think this one through. I could claim to be avoiding the radon detector that was placed in our work area this afternoon, but the scientific validity of my avoidance is shaky.
If all goes acrording to plan, the snow tires will be mounted tomorrow. That removes any hope of winter missing us.
