Anticipating heavy weather
Didn’t feel the quakes that hit BC over the last hours. Don’t have the same sense of urgency as the one in place south of here, while a large storm approaches the coast. The NYC subway system will shut down in the next few hours, and schools are already announcing closure in the predicted areas. The NY Stock market will also be watching the weather roll in. Winter storm warnings have been issued for areas to my west. Stay tuned.
My day was a little different, with a first taste of the direct sales movement. We listed our tires (from the Versa) on Kijiji Friday afternoon, and by mid-afternoon today, they were gone. We accepted a price reduction of 2.5%… from where I sit, that’s pretty cool. The buyer came prepared; a small ruler to measure remaining tread, questions about any damage while we were the owners. Meanwhile, the companion kept nodding and murmuring something about a “great deal”. In retrospect, we didn’t need to reduce our asking price, other than as a courtesy to the buyer’s lack of small(er) bill values.
The newspaper didn’t give me anything to get excited about, today. A warning that some local parish churches might close (yawn). Further chatter about the delays in dropping the puck (yawning with my eyes closed).
I’m finishing up an interesting book about the Ark. The real one; situated in PEI, several decades ago. Forget imaginary boats with critters. This was an attempt to demonstrate how a properly designed home could be “self-sustaining”, while ignoring the huge input of public monies. Still, I’d love to try an Ark 2.0, just on principle.
