Certain companies prone conformance

posted in computing |

While others in my clan dream of new gaming computers, I am content with my laptop. Why? Because I don’t game, and I just upgraded the hard drive. Easy. Although I deal with hardware all day long, and accept questions from the community on how they could be better equipped to face the difficulties of getting into the game, I’ve never been drawn in that direction. Faster video, more memory, whatever. Just throw money at the manufacturer, and your dream can be realized.

My new word for today: conformance. Blame the presentation people at Apple, who allowed us to watch an introduction to their licensing system for iPad apps. If you need a TV reference, try Borg.

My workspace is about to change.

Interesting TV is over for the rest of the evening, as  “the networks give space to a third debate session between the incumbent and the pretender. I won’t be “in that number, as the saints…” Frankly, I’m keen to see three years of campaigning draw to a close, and accept that the brief respite of about a year is worth millions. Nay, billions.

In another of those sad but true tales from south of here, a man shot a young girl in costume for a seasonal party, after mistaking her for a striped rodent. That’s all the news available at this point; any more would be anticlimactic.

Still lovely outside. Shorts and T weather, if you will. Funny weather, if I use the old days as a reference. I won’t, although certain anti-science governments wish I would. So much easier than trying to explain how we’re screwing up on all levels.
