Testing the dog’s patience

posted in pets |

From where I sit, the trick to getting a lot of work completed is to take things in small doses. Spoonful sized, if you will.  That way, nothing gets hurt along the way, and the day doesn’t stretch out endless before you.

Finished covering another two windows today. The big shipment of new blinds is supposed to arrive tomorrow afternoon, so the job is well underway. Another couple of days and the neighbours will have to find another “channel” to watch.

There are those who would rush to finish the task. I figure, we’re going to have a couple of years of living behind those curtains. Cut off from the outside. Might as well savour the break in routine. We’ve even brought in pizza for the occasion, and after calculating the slices and the mouths to feed, we shouldn’t have to send out for more for a bit. Cold pizza is just as nutritious as the hot stuff, and there’s always reheat mode in the oven for anyone who wants to go back to burns instead of flavour.

We’ve decided to test the dog’s patience with loaded Kongs. Fill the interior with cheese and other goodies, and leave him to figure out the best way to rescue the motherlode. No instruction manual allowed. By the time he figures out that the humans are absent, he may not even care. We hope. This is a last resort idea…

For the last few days, my wifi has been dropping out unexpectedly. Restart the computer and all returns. This is not good.
