Missing the launching
Against my better judgement, I’m staying home tonight. Son #1 is launching (with his group) a CD in the next hour, somewhere in the city. Although there is a school of thought that says “you are only as old as you feel”, methinks I’d stand out (as the oldest person on the dancefloor) if I attended the show. Sorry, son. When I launch MY CD, don’t follow my example.
Had to go and gather the small hound this evening (in preparation for an early morning vet visit). There are visitors at her place, from another country. Seems that son #1 is also a member of a hostel organization, and there are strangers in the place on a regular basis. Hey, son! You do all sorts of things I’ve never considered.
Watching Thalassa this evening, on a cruise somewhere north of Tromso. I could see myself doing that. I’m not a tropic paradise kind of guy, at heart; going to a land of barren rock and floating ice is much more interesting. As a plus, hurricanes rarely make it that far north.
Had a chance to compare notes with someone else who went to the Rock during the summer of 2011. Weather! Cold, fog, whatever; the place is still beautiful.
Does your company need a temporary hockey player or two? The rank and file of the idle skating crowd are out trying to find work while waiting for the season to start, and the small startup hockey club could snare some name talent for a reasonable price. Excuse me, I have to go and giggle for a few minutes.
