Media tidbits
Some have a long range view; others, not so much. Case in point: companies that think putting a QR code on a tombstone makes sense.
The dikes have been breached in Truro.
The “selfie” by Curiosity shows that some scientists are young at heart.
I could go on for hours like this. The news of the world is starting to resemble “The News Of The World” (a rag from a supermarket checkout). Forget in-depth reporting. When your reader has the attention span of a gnat, why bother? Just get on with things, content in the premise that tomorrow never comes. Oh, and that whole 2012 thing was just to get you to pick up the paper…
Now that I have a camera “in hand” all day, I realize that most of what I see isn’t worth snapping. Even if I get artistic, the interest in my cubicle, or my bus stop, aren’t worth the wasted data space. Will I want to look back and remember, a decade from now? Actually, I just want to be able to look back; the cubicle and bus stop will not have grown in interest.
The IBC (Islanders By Choice) group intends to disband by the end of this year. Not related to that 2012 thing. The current members have figured out that their choice remains their own, and the rest of the community… I just hope that the members remain committed to their choice. The last thing the Island needs is an exodus.
Of course, if it happens, we can blame it on the Bridge.
