Why the AC is on the off

posted in environment |

Certain things are listed on my to do list for this new phone. Figure out how long a battery will last on a charge (not all day). Learn how to create a custom ringtone (done: the phone now presents a rock and roll classic – the Bourée). Get used to checking for new messages. I missed those from yesterday and earlier this evening.

The dog did another “out the window and gone” fugue this afternoon. Nothing mildly musical about it. To his credit, he came home “dragging his tail behind him”. The new windows should reduce his exit strategies… so will the upcoming operation, if popular wisdom is to be believed. In his place, I’d be leaving, too. And seriously weighing the value of dried kibble vs other things.

Down south, Isaac is still growing and moving. The GOP dodged the bullet, but New Orleans might not be so fortunate. Google has created a special website, just to consolidate information for those involved. And those interested. An interesting melange of weather updates and canned statements by civic officials. Hot air reports.

The windows at work (those discovered in an inside wall) are again under cover of plastic and ventilators. Asbestos  in powdery form is nasty, unless you are in the export business (semi-official provincial government policy). Nothing like a double standard to keep all concerned happy. Pity the press is distracted by other things, like Legionnaires’s disease in the city centre and an election campaign. As a side note, our AC (like others around town) seems to be on the fritz.
