Rethinking your answer
Quiet time. The kind of day where I made one quick taxi run for son #3 and then spent the rest of the day avoiding effort. Good weather (the arrival of hurricane season down south seems to push fine times this way). OK, I admit it. Today was “find the apps” day for the new phone, and I really wasn’t interested in pulling weeds or chasing bugs or anything else.
I can now FB, eBay, WordPress, Shazam and a whole raft of other things. I’ve been warned that all smartphone noobs go through this. In a couple of weeks, I’ll be erasing the chaff and accepting the truth. Another computer isn’t going to change my life.
In the news, Neil Armstrong has passed. He never made a return visit to the Moon; he didn’t need to. No way to better that first step into what might have been dust, a kilometer deep. Sure, we all knew that wasn’t possible, but we also knew that nobody really knew. There was still that chance of a hole in one. Anyhow, he has his own place in history, more important than most politicians.
Right now, it’s just a social media joke, but things could change. The government has given its blessing to using “torture tainted information” at the border. The next time the officer asks whether you have anything to declare… perhaps you’ll want to give the answer the officer wants. You know, just because…
Rewatched “Oceans 11” this afternoon. The movie doesn’t get old. Sort of a “Mission Impossible” for the rest of us.
