Anticipating the need to hydrate

posted in politics, Wx |

It’s Tuesday. What should I fixate on for today?

My water bottle is back in my pack. After a winter (and spring) of not needing to hydrate during the long ride home, the warning is out. Hot weather, only hours away. When the sweat starts, I’ll be ready with some filtered tap water (the cooler is right outside my cubicle). Anywhere: at the bus stop, on the bus, during the six minute walk through the neighbourhood. Go ahead, Gaia. Hit me with your best shot!

According to the entertainment newscast that I’m only allowed to watch when son #3 is out of earshot, Community has won the award for Best Comedy of the season. I’m now going to have to schedule time in my busy life to watch this year’s harvest. Should I plan ahead, or wait for the spontaneity?

The Beiber has a new album. Does that really matter? I feel so “out of the loop”.  Just a guess here: he’s not going to have the staying power of the Beatles.

The ads have begun. There’s a provincial election due (long overdue, according to some), and the talking heads are hitting us right where it hurts – onscreen. From now until the boil bursts, we’re going to have a steady flow of… what’s that word, again? It’ll come to me. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if some new, fresh talent offered to run for the big prize. Imagine if 125/250/375 shocked student voices left their casseroles in the kitchen and decided to test the tides of change. We could actually survive a parliament of newbies, if they came with good intentions. I’ve just watched one of the ads, twice, in the last ten minutes…
