Magic pads and more memory
Buying a new computer means accessorizing. I guess that happens in other areas, but since we’ve drunk from the magic apple juice container, our shopping involves the genius crowd. I learned that when the store doesn’t have a given item in stock, the genius will offer advice. Tonight, we were told to seek what we wanted on eBay.
There’s a new Magic Trackpad here. The magic is a reference to what makes it all work. Forget techical details.
And the malls are into marketing chocolate. In all sorts of imaginative forms; all filled with air and worth their weight in precious metals. $21 for a tiny chocolate bunny? I’m all for pleasing the kids, but this was marketing aimed directly at people with a line of credit. The large wicker basket with a half shell of chocolate, containing a myriad of creatures (all hollow) didn’t even have a price tag. A clear sign that if you have to ask, you can’t afford to buy.
While returning to the car (safely stored in a multi-level parkade), we had to halt and wait for a parade to pass. Three… four… five tuned cars, all driven by young males wearing caps, with the headlights on high and the mufflers on cacaphonous. Clearly, the pack had no intention of parking at ten minutes to closing time. This was all about the echo of their expensively tuned pipes in an enclosed area. Do they outgrow it, eventually?
Back to the Mini, which also received a memory upgrade this evening. It’s now a fine specimen of the 5% of market share.
