The power bumped all the mailboxes away
The Oscars are behind us. I missed everything after the opening few minutes, but my ability to play catchup by reading a few online reports saved hours of waiting for something to happen. After all, the best picture was a silent movie (of sorts) and there wasn’t one of the nominees that actually had me as an audience member. Slow year for Tinsel Town. Better luck in 2013 (unless the world comes to an end before that).
My project to remotely fire my Metz 402 works, after a fashion. The wiring is dicey, and it might not go off every time. Adds to the challenge, doesn’t it? Keeping my fingers clear of the (just under) 200 VDC made this into an interesting project. Now to get busy and capture the image that will change the world. Or my world. Or something.
We’re supposed to wear pink at work later this week, and there’s not a single piece of suitable apparel on hand. If my old laundry habits hadn’t been broken, that would have been a no brainer. Wash up some whites with some reds and voilà! But such misdemeanors are no longer allowed. Sort your colours, buddy, and keep the water temperature down. Or else!
It didn’t affect me (directly), but there was a momentary burp in the building electricity today. Not good for computer geeks. One transmission had to be restarted, with an hour’s loss of effort. When someone noted that all the “mailboxes” on the main photocopier were gone… let’s just say that my typing skills kept the repair job to within acceptable limits of patience.
