The Playbook is now improved
Evidence of a slow news day: that the CBC reported on the name of a puppy belonging to a prince and his princess. Evidence of a slow day in my life: that I read the headline. Sometimes the excitement is painful.
On the home front, we’re dogsitting. She doesn’t care, as long as there’s a hazard of falling food. We kind of like her style.
Of course, this was the day that my Playbook got smarter. A new operating system, delivered around 05h15. I know the hour, because I didn’t sleep last night. One of those off moments, where the old snore motor wouldn’t turn over, so I got up and stayed up. Boy, is it quiet around here when the others go to bed. A chance to; well, actually, it wasn’t a chance to do anything. I hadn’t planned ahead, so this turned into wasted moments. Except for the OS update.
Finally, real email. Exchange compatibility. A better virtual keyboard. The right to organize my icons in the order I want. And some other features I haven’t explored yet. Just be thankful this wasn’t a “oh no, I bricked it” moment. I’m hopeful that someone will write a genealogy app, so that I can carry the data in a compact device. You know, because…
Apparently (a sort of confirmed rumour), there’s an exchange student from the Island at the local high school. I don’t have any details, but I wonder what it’s like to get away, for a taste of winter and a language immersion. Can’t help but wonder if the student will go back “a different person”, after the tour of duty.
