I’m still confused, but I understand

posted in music, sports |

Maybe there is a need for CSI. In NB, a man was found dead in his field, full of holes. His herd of deer were seen nearby. No, dear, not bullet holes. Antler holes. Did anybody think to interview the bystanders? I didn’t think so.

Locally, the city may be opening a shooting gallery. That’s an euphemism for a legal injection centre. No, the users won’t be injecting anything legal. I’m at a loss for words.

That loss by the local university football team has cost them their (rightful) place at the top of the rankings. How does that work? OK, I’ll concede the #1 place, given that the newly crowned team has won 6 out of 6. But, the other “top teams” have played fewer games. Doesn’t that sort of fly in the face of mathematics? I’m sure this will all be worked out by the end of the playoff period, when the Rouge et Or have whupped all comers. You need to know!

And yes, I’d be even happier if UPEI found the means to bring back football. Come on, it’s been long enough. We’re sorry we didn’t pay attention. Now we need to fill in that space. No, I’m not really a student any more, but I care.

After reading the Rolling Stone article about Pink Floyd, I’m more confused that ever. I’m going to have to sit (in a darkened room, with headphones) and listen to see what they did. I was too young to appreciate their effort, the first time around. Or perhaps this is just a ploy to convince me to purchase the newly released re-release. I’m still confused, but I understand (their motive).
