Some HD in our future

posted in media |

The following advice applies to a local football team. Anyone else who feels they can profit; be my guest. If you allow your quarterback to get sacked, over and over again (eight times), and if you take a series of stupid penalties, you will lose the game. No matter that you are usually “unbeatable”. Mark today on your calendar, and make a resolution to do better in future.

I need to find a source for cheap coaxial cable. Let me rephrase that. I don’t need any cheap cable, but I would like to find  a company that would sell me some quality cable for a reasonable price. Not sure of my chances. The last time I found a source for inexpensive (not cheap) cable, it required roaming through tunnels and doing my own harvesting. I no longer have access to such easy pickings, but my need remains the same. Donations are welcome.

Son #2 dropped by this afternoon, took one look at our “ordinary” TV resolution on what should be a HD set, and convinced us that it was time. Little matter that we’ve had basic cable for close to three decades. Times have changed. Now we will, too. Sometime within the month, we’ll cast off from the Bell mothership for telephone service. Then, the internet service will be upgraded, a proper HD terminal will be added to the media pile and we’ll spend even more money on that talking window that controls our life. Thanks, son #2… I guess.

And with that, the long weekend continues. No travel in view, good weather and a sense of well-being.
