Rainy day football
Why does a football game in the rain seem so monochromatic? The uniforms don’t fade to gray. The grass stays chlorophyllic. Maybe the blame should go to the broadcast industry, who don’t even bother to wipe the droplets of water from the camera lens. At least, in college football.
I couldn’t get a “home game” today; scheduling bump in the world of the CBC. Instead, a game between Montreal and Sherbrooke. I have no ties to either team, but I’m a spectator. Pull up a chair, indulge. Except for the period when I played taxi-Dad…
And in a fit of family solidarity, I also spent time swabbing out the bath tub. Which brings up another question. Why does the only area to get washed with every use get so bloody dirty? Shouldn’t application of hot running water and soap products give a sensation of clean? Does taking a shower actually accomplish anything?
I didn’t have to use a grinder (I was tempted), but the thought of purchasing a new tub has crossed my mind. How much could it cost? Can I install it myself? What do people do with old tubs? More questions than answers.
Started watching the new season of Community. Fun, just like school used to be. I didn’t have any monkeys in the air vents in my old college, but there were people in the steam tunnels. Similar? At least faculty members are still authentically eccentric in the TV world. Would I go back to school, if the option was there? Probably. After all, I now understand deadlines.
