A deflector is what we need
A couple more hours and it will be over. No, not the birthday celebration. The other thing, that has sucked the oxygen out of the air. Soon, we can return to regular programming, and stop the “weeping and wailing” that our parents warned us was appropriate only in prayer. Not a minute too soon!
I’ve started shopping for a transverter. I have these little moments of wanting that which I don’t need. Last month, a low D whistle. Now, a black box that will allow me to use more modes on a band that I ignore, 99.9% of the time. The good thing is that nobody wants to sell me one (for cheap), and I’m too cheap to buy one at retail value. This, too, shall pass. Maybe I should try making cheap antennas for the winter.
We were out to eat this evening, in a local restaurant that does Greek. Sort of. Again, I’m sure that the real thing tastes nothing like what we had, but the calamari were really tasty (without being chewy). What with no dishes to do and no chance of getting burned, I came out ahead on the deal. Of course, we missed “doing the groceries”, but there’s always tomorrow.
Son #3 has come up with a really good idea. Since we seem to have a perpetual sock shortage, he decided to find out the cause. It appears that the lost have been found, piling up behind the washer and dryer downstairs. He suggests that we build a deflector (out of window screening, to keep the weight down). If we can find a way to install esthetic value to the structure, it could be a plan.
