Identical, not just similar
My life is back on track. No more wet paint woes (since I didn’t find any today). No troubling weather (although there’s a frost warning in effect). Today was my chance to solve a telephony problem.
OK, I didn’t solve the problem. I simply observed and waited for a solution. Someone had a situation where all “outside” calls went directly to voicemail, but “inside” calls were handled normally. The control software has lots (and lots) of menus, but nothing stood out as the reason for the schizoid behavior. Under advisement (is that a word), I passed the call on to the technical department at our supplier and sometime over lunch they found the reason.
This is how you note the solution. The caller was referred to voicemail instead of extension. This is a meaningful explanation, for somebody. Some day, maybe I’ll understand the nuance.
Tonight, we went out and bought matching air mattresses, for the missus and me. No more plastic, ballooney things that give out under pressure (no pun intended). We now own something called Thermarest Dream Time. Worth the price of a nice hotel room, each. On principle (cheap nature), I am going to stretch vacation camping out for as long as I can, in order to make my investment appear rational (to others). Yes, the kids think we are certifiable… but, then, what do kids know?
I’ve placed two identical images here as avatars for the two identical mattresses that will now provide a base for restful oceanside life for the next few summers. The colours are the same, the packages are the same; no reason for anyone to complain that the other person took the wrong one.
