Not on the bucket list
In response to the question from someone about the current status of my bucket list; I’m working on it. Slowly. So that it can last a lifetime, even if I get distracted.
This morning, son #2 and I agreed that one thing not on our respective lists is running a marathon. Walking the distance is also off the list, now that I realize what is involved. 42,195 meters. Sorry, no. Watching others is exhausting enough. And while we’re at it, isn’t getting from point A to point B the reason why public transit was developed?
I made it back to see my tailor eye surgeon this afternoon. One week was all it took for my extra stitch to disappear, so I now have another one. Thanks to the Canadian medical system, I did not have to take out a second mortgage to pay for my newest knot. Take that, American “who needs Medicaid?” editorial writers. The waiting time was acceptable, the seats were comfortable, and I learned that being accompanied by a seeing eye dog doesn’t mean always knowing where you left your coat. The dog was polite and quiet, though, unlike some other helpers.
The family has a new favorite TV series that must be watched in the shortest time frame possible. Community, which provides gainful employment for the king of pratfalls (Chevy Chase). Pretty funny, but since the family that watches network TV doesn’t always stay in sync, I’m treated to multiple opportunities to see any given episode. Day and night start to blur.
