Distracted by the meme

posted in music |

There oughta be a law, forbidding the recycling of musical themes on TV. Imagine the stress that I deal with, every time the network broadcasts an ad for Hawaii-5-0. You can’t erase four years of racing for a chair in the common room. Not even with a thirty-five year pause. Auditive memory doesn’t work that way.

Hearing a dog that barks like your old hound. Listening to that special song on a retro radio station. There are hundreds of examples. That’s the problem with auditive memory; you can’t close your eyes until it goes away. So, other than wearing silly earplugs (and missing out on the rest of my life), I’m doomed to recalling trivial things. Book ’em!

Twenty-four hours have passed, and I still haven’t found the ads. Not good.

Here’s a user feature that we don’t need… the thing that causes your computer screen to rotate by 90 degrees. Or worse, 180 degrees. Suddenly your desktop is upside down, and the mouse doesn’t go where it should. I’ve had two calls (from the same user) recently. The desktop “is all weird”. Yeah! Really! Of course, there’s no recall (on the user’s part) as to what provoked the reality shift. I’m getting better are mirrored movements. Still slow, but I’m getting better. Now, stop doing this!

Too many exclamation points. Not explanation… I know, the words sound “alike”, but there’s a world of difference in there.

Had a staff meeting today, that actually served a purpose. What’s that all about? A real agenda, useful information, the whole loaf. I’m not ready for such things.
