And as always, the bowl was super

posted in sports |

The party is going on at a neighbour’s place; I’ll just keep my peace and enjoy the show. But, would it hurt for them to tone down the rhetoric, just a little?

Another Super Bowl. World Domination, Redux. War without casualties, blah, blah. From the time the networks went live, the colours were on display. A group recitation of their constititution. A sing-off (the Anthem vs. the Wannabe) with Christina and Princess Lea. Stars and Bars on the field, reminding us that this is a national moment. Special moments to decorate heroes from the battlefield. Can we get back to the game, please?

How do you pick your team, for the big game? I went with colours: the green reminds me that I still have Panther Pride. The big G on the helmet was also a factor, just because I like the letter. Knowing that the Brett Era is over, I bumped the needle on my record player, and became a fan of the new guy, even if I won’t remember his name by this time next week.

Still no commercials, but it didn’t matter. They’ll be up on the net within minutes. Funny how something that serves to make money, rather than entertain, doesn’t seem to cause the anti-piracy squad to suffer from apoplectic seizures. I mean, what’s better? A new Brit song, or a new Bud commercial?

And now that the game has ended, with Green Bay coming out alive, I’ll fasten my seatbelt for the new Glee moment. Rumor is that we’re in for a thriller…
