Just wait, the weather will change
One of those sleepless nights (unexpected uninvited visitor will do that) meant that the departure for work this morning was somewhat precipitous. Skies were grey, and by noon the snowfall was heavy. The administrative council decided to close the office just before normal quitting time. I shouldn’t complain; it’s hard to change decades of dangerous behaviour quickly.
I managed to turn our high end laser printer into an origami machine this morning. Not hard; I sent a duplex job that decided to imitate an accordion bellows deep within the heated beast. I now am much better at disassembly of that particular model of printer, using primitive tools. The original goal was to learn more about secure signon using token number generators. Long path going in no clear direction; my co-workers believe that password protection of a system will work and I don’t. My alternative is going to cost money and theirs won’t. Battles that can’t be won shouldn’t ever be fought.
My upgrading the blog software went quite well, but the attempts to edit the language files for the family tree software were shaky. I won’t offer my PHP skills on the open market just yet…
