White welcome for football
And with an early morning snowfall, we have started another season. After the high winds and cold rain from mid-week, this is better. I guess.
Instead of trying to hibernate, we struck off for the local box store, where we joined the queue in the falling snow because of a promise. By them, and to ourselves, to purchase USB flash drives at a good price: 16 GB for $10. We were there in time, we got the treasured tickets allowing us to receive one drive from a shopping cart full and then we kept right on shopping. After all, that was their plan.
A new printer has taken its place on an empty desktop. More than a printer; this is an “all-in-one” with printing, faxing, scanning, photo editing. The Epson Artisan 810. A replacement for a cupboard full of older equipment that wasn’t compatible with W7. The new unit does everything the manual claims, and more.
Imagine, wireless scanning in Linux! Didn’t know I needed that, but I have the capability so I’ll find something to do with it.
This was a big football afternoon, with the two university bowl games on cable. Snow in Quebec and Calgary, and the home teams won in both instances. What that means is that next weekend will see Laval hosting Calgary for this year’s Vanier Cup. The Rouge et Or have wanted this, for years. No game forecasting here; I’m a spectator.
And with a winter wonderland as inspiration, I’ve prepared a double batch of lasagna. Enough to get us through a stormy weekend, should the need arise.
