Bubbly Bake is really good
Stay in a campground long enough and you’ll find other repeat customers. I’m not always able to pull their names up from the mental Rolodex, but we are creatures of habit. That is, we try to pitch in the same little spot each season. Birds do things in a similar way.
Nesting in the same neighbourhood doesn’t mean you have to eat together. I share my table poorly, which kept me from leading a monastic existence when I was in a position to do so. Pot luck scares me. Instead, we hit the road to seek supper without a clear destination. Fits well with dysfunctional GPS equipment.
Tonight, the road ran out in Montague. I’m trying to avoid a Gray Way of describing meals (never saw a table that didn’t please), but our luck continues to run true. Windows On The Water, just this side of the bridge, provides an excellent menu (from my point of view). Starting with the Bonsai tree on my plate – oops, I’ve been told that it is called broccoli and is not a century old – which was cooked to a T for tasty, with a healthy portion of new potatoes (seems early, but what do I know?), the main course of Seafood Bubbly Bake was worth the trip. I’d order this again.
Surprisingly, the service was fully bilingual, over the top friendly and fast. How many other restaurants can claim the same? We watched the gentle folk from other places (main reason for eating in a public place) and thanked our lucky stars for helping us avoid the near temptation of square burgers and fatty fries.
