Time to reformat the netbook
Time to revamp the netbook for summer vacation. Last year, brand new out of the box, it was wonderful. This year, with the dry rot imposed by poor software, I’m ready to reformat and cut my (time) losses.
I can point at exactly what software WON’T be invited back to the party; anything from a company named after forbidden fruit. Ever since someone from the iPod generation borrowed the computer, the “necessary” software has been like a thorn in my side. Today, I decided to uninstall nicely, and it just isn’t happening.
To reformat might be the shortest way to nirvana. I can always reload the other operating systems, once things are operating cleanly. There, the decision is made. This evening I’ll rewind to the summer of ’09, and my life will be improved.
This was a quiet day around the house. Every time the dog had warmed up a spot on the couch, I distracted her and stole her spot. No, it didn’t make her all happy and tail-waggy, but she does tend to take the most comfortable places and stake claim. I’m just reclaiming my place at the top of the comfort pyramid.
With too much milk on hand, I sent some along with son #3 as he went visiting. I know, four litres of milk isn’t a balanced lunch, but sometimes the choice is obvious. I mean, how much milk can I drink between now and Monday morning? This might be the first real long weekend of the summer, but we’re not on the list of places to visit by family members. Even in the city, you can find quiet time.
