Flipping a copter
My ISP is a source of mystery. Although he (she, it) delivers a regular source of TCP/IP and keeps our various TV sets busy, the access to client service is never simple.
This evening, I “caught” an ad offering value added content via the web (if I happened to be a cable subscriber). Sounds like me. Unfortunately, the “login” to their site never happened. We keep an active FTP account. There’s an active email address. We sometimes check billing information online. All through a password protected identity that has served well. Until tonight.
I’m a stranger to their service centre. I can “set up” a new profile, but that is sure to bring email and FTP services to a screeching halt. No can do, in this connected age of the 21st century. Instead, I’m going to stand on the outside of the latest party, wondering if I’m missing the time of my life. Maybe, tomorrow, I’ll call and try to talk to a real human.
Thanks to Discovery Channel, I’m going to bed a little better informed this evening. Turns out that a helicopter can fly upside down. Let me clarify; there are presently two helicopters in the world (apart from secret military hardware) that can do backflips, rolls, loops and all the other tummy testing tricks normally limited to stunt planes. The machines, Eurocopter BO-105s, are unique and they belong to the Red Bull group. And the pilot that was interview was concise… it works or you die. Don’t look for one of these in your local flight school any time soon. As for an add-in to “Flight Simulator”…
