New learning approaches
This news just in (brought by the rising tide): the attempt to plug that leak in the ocean floor near Louisiana has failed. Heard on a passing wind: the new hurricane season has begun. The best laid plans of mice and men (and oil company engineers)…
Still, the greed of humans knows no limit. A Louisiana official has appealed, personally, to the president. Not for aid against the encroaching slick; rather, that drilling for new oil wells continue, because unemployment is a greater peril than a black tide.
The new gazebo is in place on the deck out back. I’ve learned that having a second set of eyes reading the instruction sheet helps. We (I) had managed to put certain pieces in place upside down and shifted left to right. Fit properly, but certain other structural features became technically impossible to implement. Unbolt, flip, rebolt. Progress impeded, temporarily. My son put it in perspective. His course in reading mechanical drawing does have practical uses. Properly embarrassed, I concur.
I’ve decided to forego the hamfest tomorrow morning. I’d lke to go, but I can’t face the six hour round trip in the car on one of the good weather days of a weekend. Online flea markets are almost as interesting (novelty wise), and I can shop “day or night”. Maybe come autumn, when a trip in the colours will add to the pleasure. We went over to the neighbour to ask about “learning materials” and were pointed in the direction of online resources and downloadable test generators. Books are so last century.
