Better bacon boxes
While out for groceries this evening, I noticed two innovations (involving bacon). This staple of the breakfast menu is now available in resealable plastic boxes or in packaging with tear-off subportions. There, the emergency has been resolved. Back to regular frustrations.
My new floor has been taken up and put down again (almost). After a couple of weeks of reflection, we decided (as a family) that the “feel” was softer than we wanted. Due to excessive underlay, the floating floor felt like it was (for lack of a more appropriate analogy) floating. Every problem has a solution; in this case, we simply unsnapped the rows, removed and replaced the foam with a newer, thinner product and then went back to snap and smile. Probably, within days, the whole job will be signed off. And then, on to bigger projects.
I’m now dreaming of real hardwood flooring. Tongue and groove. Varnish. Wax to make it easier for the ballroom dancing (OK, forget the dancing part). There are tools I don’t own (yet) and there are techniques that I don’t fully understand. Isn’t that why YouTube was created. I saw a statistic concerning their volume of material. Apparently, people are uploading 24 hours of new content every minute. That’s two months worth of viewing every hour, every day. Wow!
South of here, the Congress is preparing for an important vote later this evening. If all prognostication holds, the proposed health insurance plan will be passed, bringing with it a change for the better. Note that I’m not full of details: this is a big picture vote, and if one of the largest health systems in the world can make the move toward care for all, I’m onside.
