Sorry, my eyes were elsewhere
The predicted happened. A space ship crashed on the moon, and my eyes were elsewhere. We had close family in for a visit, and I just didn’t remember to go outside and stare upwards at the right moment. Didn’t even cross my mind.
SMART-1
The weather throughout the long weekend is wet and windy; the front edge of a hurricane that is wandering to and fro on the eastern seaboard. I tend to forget just how large these weather systems are. If we were to get in the car and drive for two days, we’d not get out from the cloud cover I suspect.
On the NOAA site, you can now call up track maps of hurricanes going back for decades. Although the media refers to the larger, more powerful storms by names of boys and girls, the mundane truth is that we name almost anything that can be recorded. Somewhere, someone is probably naming each day and night with a title. I don’t mean the civil date, either; someone has likely hung a name on today.
So, I’m naming last evening as “Missed flash Saturday”. There, I’ve just done my part.
