Good food in town
With another injection of available funds in the bottomless bank account (don’t we all wish), we made a vow to head to town and try something new for lunch. After a quick stop at the old French fort, where nary a cannon to be seen, we returned to the same shady parking spot up by the old YMCA. What were the odds of that one. The new (for us) Atlantic Tech Centre provided a comfort stop, Internet access for the youngest and a chance meeting with the Island’s only remaining AM radio station operator. In fact, that is not exactly true. He’ll be there to turn it all off and watch the towers fall gracefully, but he’s moved to greener pastures in the FM world. Hard to believe that CFCY will stop modulating!
Our lunch at the Royal Tandoor buffet was even better than I’d hoped, because all the food was good and the pricing is excellent. Hope they’re still in “open for business” mode next year. Given our plans to head off-Island, I purchased some more music and books, and we returned to the dogmobile where I discovered exactly what a tourist hates to find out – my keys are missing. After a short halt at the UPEI bookstore where I still hope that they’ll recover their senses and offer the real UPEI logo on a T-shirt, we decided that my best strategy would be to retrace our steps in search of the errant keyring.
I talked to available security guards and merchants, and checked the restrooms of the day, but no luck. At least I have a War-Amps tag, so the ring can find its way to Mordor. We stopped at the French fort again, still no cannons. Back to campground, with a firm resolve to wake early and pack.
