Put on your mud boots.
I have to admit. Politically I am an observer. I have little action on a day-to-day basis that allow me to say yes I helped helped to change that. I’ve been listening to commentary on the elections from down South and I realize that there are many people who understand what happened and why. Unfortunately none of us or them had any possibility of altering the trajectory of the juggernaut. Too many people with other plans. We have a more gentle system here in Canada. We can look at our politics and we can say that things can be done at a local level. Even when they’re not. Because once again we are humans and we do not see the big picture until after the fact. Actually I blame art for that. Music you do try to look ahead but art is always something for the observer. But back to politics. We will have a change in our political system at the granular level sometime in the next year. Will we take any lessons from what is going on around us or will we allow money to be the controlling factor in everything. You can decide which jersey you wish to wear. I think that our political system is on the whole well thought out. Unfortunately we allow leadership to be more of a controlling factor that it actually merits. As a Canadian I realized that being the Prime Minister gives very little back to the citizen. Will we fix this before the next election? Not a chance perhaps in the next century. Short term though we will do what money wants us to and we will allow ourselves to be taken down a path that leads to money walking. Best to buy some good boots before.
