The Fear Factor

posted in Wx |

Oh no, the weather channel has its red screens out. Oh no, the government weather site has its red and yellow warning bars out again. The first hot day of the season has its scary thunder clouds all around us, with an imminent risk of rain, or wind, or hail, or shock and awe effects.

Now the weather channel is showing us pictures of a tornado that rolled through Barrie; look, there’s the Essa Road sign taking a dive. It must be so, it’s on TV. Who cares what year.

The real test comes with the first peal of thunder (question, why do only thunder and bells peal?) Listen, the dog is barking! If she barks, and it isn’t the milk delivery or the flyer boys or something else, then it must be scary. Be very, very afraid.
