Opportunity for the young and restless

posted in economy, politics |

Hey kids, there are job opportunities galore (and no life like it) with National Defence.
Just think, if you are willing to sign on for twenty-five years or life, the Canadian taxpayer will pay you anywhere from $25K to $80K per year, with a liberal clothing allowance (you do wear army surplus already, right?)

Just a small detail, really. Your employer has signed a contract with someone else, so your worksite will involve a stay outside of our borders, although still on national soil. Present opportunities in exciting cities such as Kandahar may involve a need for body armour, but with the snazzy clothes (see above) and the chances for advancement (very rapid, when your supervisor is in harm’s way), why would you resist?

Those who want to be submariners need not apply; our navy is in drydock for the foreseeable future. Similarly, job opportunities for helicopter pilots are limited, although qualified air mechanics will have more work than they can handle…

So, come on, all of you bright young men (and women), Uncle Sam’s kid brother needs your help again (sorry, Country Joe…)
