Things may improve
I realize that maps (and by extension, basic geography) can seem complicated. But, when the governor of Texas claimed that illegal immigration from people walking across a shared border with South Africa was an issue, I didn’t need to consult an atlas. I knew this wasn’t going to “fly”. Do these people even feel silly when they make fallacious statements like this?
We’re back to wishing, for basic Internet service. Would losing our current speed (tongue in cheek) of 1.9 Mbps (tested one minute ago) in return for something else be risky? I know, I’ll test again, just in case. 1.5 Mbps. Best not go for two out of three here.
It’s a juggle. All of our eggs are in one basket (the one from hell). That means TV, telephone and Internet. The single supplier made sense, six years ago when it was the only game in town. Now, though… the service has slowed, and the price has risen.
There are other, emerging technologies. The current guy (rhymes with sell) has never upgraded anything. Fibre doesn’t come this far out the road. The ADSL link is so “nineties”. Let’s get through the holiday season, but my expectations for ’22 won’t be satisfied by status quo. If anyone is listening (and I know you are)…
The province has its first snowfall. Not us, specifically, but the highway cams offer up a view that means we need to swap our tires for the other ones. Wednesday. Already scheduled. Could have been two days ago, if we hadn’t relied on a calendar that gave only a partial picture of our availability. For the next couple of days, we’ll use caution (and realize that rain melts snow). Then, we’ll be seasonally prepared.
