My own, personalized code

posted in health, politics |

According to observers, our local waters abound with whales. The lack of cruise ships might be a reason. I know; the sellers of tourist junk don’t want it mentioned, because those floating transporters of gullible strangers are good for the “bottom line”.

My tax dollars at work: this afternoon I was able to download a personalized QR code, which I can plasticise or exhibit from my smartphone. Until I have a chance to determine what the government is “saying about me”, I’m going to proceed with due caution.  Also, the provincial government has started a fund for companies that need code readers. Hey! What about those of us without code “displayers”? I would love for you to buy me a new gadget, although a dog-eared and tattered paper copy, printed at home, will probably suffice.

We’ve been warned to protect our pets against ingestion of edibles. That word IS code, and it doesn’t refer to dentabones. I do wonder who is wealthy enough to be giving my dog a treat. Of any kind.

It’s basic math, buddy. The Canadian Parliament is about to increase the number of seats, and one province will have one less than before. And the complaining has started. Here’s the thing. If your population is declining (and you aren’t my province which has a constitutional right to what we have) you could end up with a fit to your pop. On second thought, more chairs for everybody. Politicians do love to count things. I mean, we could revert to the way things stood back in ’49. See who complains at that point.

The temperature was up to 18C this afternoon, and now we have thunder. Welcome to a belated summer.
