The renewal of the light
A well-functioning home is akin to a small enterprise. With that as a given, I am the CTO of the company. Chief Tecnology Officer, because any acronym should be explained upon its introduction (I read that someplace, and it sounds about right). So, in short, I get to fix what is broken, or at least prepare a sound, reasoned excuse for the CEO. You can Google that one. My pleasure.
We’ve been here long enough to replace some of the outside lights. Darkness is a problem, when streetlights haven’t yet been introduced. We’re now on to a third (or fourth) iteration. And today I brought the stepladder out, in order to begin installation of fixtures that Amazon delivered last evening. I put too much time into my planning; wanting to change things out while “live”. And then, wanting to stay alive, I cut the current and now we have a bright light in the driveway. Fox triggered, usually. The other fixture above the side door will get swapped (tomorrow), since my choice of equipment seems proper. That CTO role is a busy one.
I have no intention to spend the evening going in and out (testing my work). I believe in the initial success. Also, I did install the other versions; that they now require replacement is more a flaw in the climate. Salty air, etc. Perhaps I’ll be able to reuse that last fixture. Or not. The price point means that I can afford to keep a small Chinese manufacture in business. I wonder if they realize it?
