Back to class, with no pandemic rules in place
You’ve probably seen those odd math questions that pop up on social media. Usually, a poorly defined equation, where the combination of operators and brackets leave those of us who are math-diminished gasping. I’ve been watching the solution process, and what is clear is that a) the order of operations is important and b) there are several variants out there. What seems clear to one is pure gibberish to another. Oddly, that’s how I remember most of my math classes after leaving the safe harbour of elementary school.
Does becoming a cabinet minister lead to diminished mental capacity? As we move (apparently) into the feared fourth wave, schools are preparing for the opening game of the semester. And in more than one case, PPE (personal protective equipment) is seen as unnecessary. Masks, to be succinct. I wonder if there is a whole “other sort of science” that gets transmitted to education ministers, when the science is clear: your breath particles are not going to make my life better. In the confined limits of the average classroom, where thirty mouth-breathers are trapped for the day, any viral tidbits are going to be shared. You figure out what happens next, because that seems to be beyond the ken of certain “leaders”.
At least the vax-passport will be available, soon, for those who must travel. I won’t rush to get mine; safety begins in my home. Also, all of my cool stuff is right here, so there’s no need to temporarily broaden my horizons. Send me a postcard, if you must. Pick a pretty picture.
