With the right music, anything is possible
Just like with a small boat… sometimes you need to give a touch to the tiller and set your heading in a new direction. For me, I can reset my compass with a bit of music.
In particular, the Moody Blues. Here we are, more than fifty years along, and I still find solace in the rich harmonies. Orchestral, with a tinge of life. So, if I seem to be in a moment of happy melancholy, just listen to what I’m playing in the background.
I made bread, this afternoon. Decided to dump my sack of all-purpose flour which produced something akin to cake the last go-around. The green bin goes to the curb this evening. I had a new yellow pouch in the back of the cupboard, and my loaf came out just the way I imagined. Shape, taste, sound (actually, that’s the music in the background).
The RV is home after a short stay at the local garage. New tires in the rear. The fancy lug nuts back in place. All good for the near future. There’s still a need for an oil change (12 quarts is a lot of liquid to recycle; the garage can take care of that, too).
Now that a Canadian has won a gold medal in track, there’s a movement afoot to rename a high school in his honour. Are you ready? The “De Grasse High School”. Has a familiar ring to it. And with a gold medal, how can the public refuse? Let’s start cranking out the jackets and hats, stat.
