Short stepping the near sighted
My hunger for power continues. Nothing political; I want access to AC, everywhere. Especially when away from home, in the RV. Several months ago, I purchased a “solar generator”, and today the Fedex truck delivered a second battery pack. Power! My recharge tests, using solar panels were great fun, and now I feel confident that I can make it through a long, dark night. Maybe not with A/C (the chilled air variety), but at least with most other comforts.
We’ve been here (in the country) for more than six years now. And, in the back yard, there’s an odd bush that masks the direction sign to a neighbour AND (I think) one of the marker pins from the survey done before we bought in. After adding some blue cord to the weed whacker, I attacked the mini-thicket around the bush. Still haven’t spotted the pin in question, but tomorrow is another day. Today was a little too bright for comfort.
I watched an interesting video about stair design. Back in the day, skinny steps turned the lower sections of the “manor house” into a death trap. Imagine carrying trays of food up a poorly designed stairwell, with dim lights and cumbersome clothing. The broken legs often gave way to septicemia, making the home as dangerous as certain fields of battle. I now want to know more; I’ll have to measure the steps around here, and calculate my risks.
A second night of penetrating oil did nothing for my seat post problem, so I will simply spend $20 and fix things the way I like. Let the post person drop off a carton with the answer to my dilemma.
