Something to ponder
They almost had me. A crime documentary series, with the title :”Heist”. And then the tagline. Watch people almost get away with these crimes of a lifetime. You see what the publicist did there, right. Oh well. Back to searching for TV content that takes me beyond the mundane.
My own reality show goes on here, at home, pretty much every day. A tour is taken by someone else, of nearby attractions. Followed by a photo blog. It’s almost as if I had gone along, without ever leaving the house. That’s something that I’ve given up until I get word that the world outside is safe. Or at least, safer. And since no one seems to have noticed my absence, I guess things are OK. Hey, even the dog doesn’t beg me to wander off the property.
The WHO (you know who you are) confirm that the actual number of pandemic cases is rising (again). Blame the politicians, who lack basic science. If you make vaccination a matter of choice, especially by the less educated, and then you drop the restrictions on travel and masks, with the final card in your hand coming from the variant pile… things fall apart.
I mention that book, by Chinua Achebe, because I really should get around to reading a copy. (He was the guest speaker at my convocation, a long time ago). Anyhow, the summer looks less promising than before. I fully expect a return to “lockdown”, once the fatality count rises. Hey, friends and family, there’s still FaceTime. Or handwritten letters. We have options available, right?
