Under pressure to summerize
As usual, I’m all caught up in the little details. There is a strong desire to celebrate the solstice, in a few days, by going camping. Or glamping. Probably the latter. Here’s the catch. The RV is still in hibernation. Awaiting the sudden onset of any freezing temperatures. That we’ve been under frost warnings for several nights hasn’t pushed me to get the dewinterization done.
And one tiny detail: I need a nylon drain plug, which is somewhere in the delivery system. Without it, no hot water. Or radiant heat. I’m trying to calculate how far I can proceed with my list of little details before that gaping wound kicks in and water spews forth. Cold water, of course.
I’m probably going to work on the other subsystems. Get ready for a water supply before cranking that final valve from “winter” to “summer”. But I did mention a deadline. Four days. Five, max. In other words, I will have to become very proactive, and then see how things go.
Actually getting space in a campground is simpler. As of this afternoon, only four of more than 180 spots were booked. It’s early, and tourists are rare. For another couple of weeks, at least. The government wants a return to normal, but their plans are as blurred as my own. A lot of summer jobs won’t be filled until school closes and the borders open. Those from away are chomping at the bit. We’re an oasis (albeit surrounded by salty water) and people want to make sure that every possible moment on the beach is available.
