Could I print a better card?

posted in technology |

Hang in there. I’ll think of something that sets today apart from earlier moments in my life. Let me check the news; there is always something going on over there. News, right?

Well, it looks like Quebec has decided that there is safety in numbers. The quarantine rules are about to slack back, and (apparently) one of my  kids is happy enough about the effects on (his) business to have done an interview for local media. Not MY local media, so I am now tasked with searching until I find whatever it is that he did. I hope I won’t be shocked or embarrassed; the standard hope of a parent, right? I could phone him and ask, but now that he’s a media darling, I might get shunted to a side track. Or get side tracked. The story of my life.

I continue to be intrigued about another son and his new 3D printer. After watching a number of YT videos, I now understand the content of the assembly manual, and could probably put the pieces into something functional.  I’m not going there, just yet. More software to study. Slicing is clear, when it comes to tomatoes and potatoes, but this has implications for turning an idea into a lump of cooled plastic. Am I close?  That’s why I’m holding off with my credit card. Plastic… maybe I could print something that would serve to pay for my purchase. If I had one. This is something of “a chicken and an egg” flavour. Better that I arrange with son #3 to do a movie. He can star in it, if he wants. Fame with a purpose.
