Plugged in, as a start
Getting up in the middle of the night with a restless dog does come with some benefits. For example, I have a better idea about how many boats are fishing offshore (from me) at night. A lot more than I would have guessed. Perhaps I should try and harvest some shoreline food; there must be some species that isn’t allocated to the industry. More research needed.
In reality, I doubt that I wlll be baiting any hooks in the near future. But, if one of the kids ever comes to visit and shows even a minimum of interest, we could be on our way to some fresh fried fillets. This resembles my neglect of the local harvest. Potatoes, galore. Still cheaper to purchase a small bag at the market. By the time I’d go through any quantity of tubers, I’d be caught and brought before the magistrate for petty larceny.
Small steps: this afternoon I brought two more synthesizers out of storage, along with some accessories. Oh, and an amp. I even stayed on course long enough to plug things in and make some noise. Plural. As we move into better weather, and I am forced to quit the shelter of a self-imposed quarantine, I might dog out some manuals and try to gain basic mastery over some of the toys. Note, this is an intention, not a promise. A lot can change, quickly. But without the basic “plug it in and press play”, nothing else will happen. Imagine the cacophony, going forward. At least I’m not shoulder-to-shoulder with my neighbours.
