Unable to make a forecast about pretty much anything

posted in environment |

Certain governments like to prove to the world that they learned little in school, particularly in science classes. In those jurisdictions where “opening up the economy” took precedence over public safety, the infection rates are rising. Almost as if having a third wave was a requirement. And while business owners insist on a return to normal, the rest of us might pay a heavy price. I’m willing to waait, until the vaccination system catches up with me. I just don’t want to get sick, first. But keep an eye on certain provinces, where the spring might be long and deadly.

Hey, we might get another bit of snow! Something near the end of the week has the attention of the meteo wizards.

The Conservatives (or whatever name they’re using these days) have voted to remove climate change from their policy manual, following a convention last weekend. And in the same breath, their leader says that they will be coming up with a platform article to deal with it. This is a long shot, but do I sense discord in the ranks? Could we have another leadership vote before the vote? Stay tuned.

This province has started to electrify the school bus fleet. Small steps, with no firm timetable announced. I keep wondering where you plug in a yellow limo, while out on a back road behind Toronto (our version, not Ontario’s).

I decided to check into the next Olympic Games, and now I wish I hadn’t. We don’t know much about the when, even if the where was decided a decade ago. Oh, and Canada isn’t going to compete, so…

The family tree has climbed beyond 104K.
