Time to study extruders
Today’s amazing story involves fast food. Over in Pompeii, where the sky famously fell on folk’s heads (a long time ago), the cleanup has turned into a multi-century process. And recently, someone uncovered a small streetside restaurant that probably served the pedestrian traffic. Cars not being yet a thing, etc.
Now, the photo is colourful.
Much better decorating than I would have guessed. Food still on display, although gone to stone in the bottom of the pots. To put the importance of this discovery, we can actually make educated an educated guess at the menu. Somehow, I don’t think our modern fare will be as identifiable. Although, there are rumours that certain hamburgers are standing up to the “test of time”.
This afternoon, I mailed a pie to one of my kids. Correction, a Pi. One of those tiny computers that seeks a role in life. In this case, the holiday brought a 3D printer, and based on crowd-sourced knowledge, adding some calculating power makes everything run better. I don’t know; I’m just someone with deep cupboards. I bundled a solution into a cardboard box, and it should arrive in a few days (come on, Canada Post, you can do this). At that point, I expect to continue my own education, as I try to field the inevitable questions. Hey, there’s always YouTube.
I did read, a little, and now realize that I know nothing about extrusion technology.
On the web, I happened across a podcast concerning the rise and fall of Ryan’s Fancy. I was there, back in the day. I still remember the lyrics to a large number of folk songs.
