Life in lockdown

posted in environment |

Another day, complete. Which one was it? Friday? Huh. The “seven days in a week” doesn’t really apply, any more. I’ve gone to the more compact model: yesterday, today, tomorrow. Covers all the important details, I think.

I’m waiting for the post office to catch up with my expectations. Using their tracking service is fraught with unmet deadlines. The parcel which was supposed to arrive yesterday, did not come today, won’t come tomorrow. They attached a new value, using numbers, but my calendar skills are fading. I’ll just have to wait, and be surprised by how well they did.

Which reminds me… we’re also waiting for our “solar generator”, scheduled to ship in mid-November. That hasn’t been successful, and I don’t really want to rattle the cage of their dealer. Yes, they received payment, up front, months ago. But, these are particular times, and I will wait and go with the wonderful as a praise term. Not really important (other than the “we got your money already”) bit; this is an accessory for the RV, which will remain parked until the world gets back to normal. I haven’t sourced the accessory solar panels, in any case.

Another province is locking down; right now over half the nation is learning the virtues of life at home, without friends or family. I already lived on a desert island (sic), so I’m prepared. But, there are millions of you, out there, with no point of reference. Here we go. Don’t empty your fridge. Don’t abandon hope. Hug your dog (if you have one). Learn to play a musical instrument. Recorders are cheap.
