Overpack the car? Not me.
Tomorrow, the old car gets loaded on a trailer and heads out for the next chapter in its life. It has served us well, for the last eight years. Anyhow, I decided to make good use of the cargo space available. It will be transporting four complete wheel/tires in the back seat, and down close to the floor level I managed to squeeze in a wood lathe. Not wanting to push my luck, so the promised chopsaw will wait for another time.
Around here, we’re still playing with the end of summer. The thermometer made it to 16C by mid afternoon; cooler than yesterday, although still within the range of “look at me in my tee sleeves”.
Meanwhile, the election drama continues. One man, incapable of admitting that he didn’t “win bigly” has the nation on tenterhooks. Will he leave, when it is time? I’ve never witnessed anything of a similar nature, here in the northland. We understand that elections come with winners AND losers, and that saying something didn’t happen won’t make it so. You know, democracy.
I wonder what the holidays will bring in 2020. No roadtrip, for sure. I guess I’ll phone those involved and send my regrets. A “see you next year?” Unsure. I mean, I can handle it, but what about the kids? Will they accept a virtual turkey dinner? Digipics of the tree? Hardly the way to build memories.
Guess I’ll have to find some tunes, to create a mixtape like back in the ‘80s. Hey, I could use music from the 80s; think how much like the original feeling that would be.
