Getting the moves right
Today, the little car moved one step closer to its new vocation. After a quick piling of personal effects into a handy food bag (the big, reusable kind) and leaving behind a pair of booster cables in the trunk, we headed down the road to a garage that knows how to properly clean a car. I could have tried to do the job at home, but my skills are shallow. Plus, we’re now into a cold and windy spell, and after fifteen minutes I threw in the (virtual) towel.
Although we don’t know the actual travel date, there’s still time to get the winter tires mounted. And to say a proper farewell. The Rogue has done well, by us. I’d go back to that brand again, if challenged. There were a few odd discoveries in various corners of the passenger area: those seeds and shredded tissue point to someone else with a plan for the winter months. Sorry!
The dog got a letter, today. A reminder from the vet that more vaccinations were on the calendar. I like that he keeps in touch with his doctor, even if I have to read the correspondence and arrange for transport. My doctor isn’t nearly as diligent.
On my “I probably should watch that list” is a new series that deals with chess in the pre-60’s period. You know, around the time I played my first (and only) match against my cousin. On social media, I came across a magazine article that gave the series some high praise. The devil is in the details, and The Queen’s Gambit goes to great lengths to get things right. Maybe I’ll learn some new moves!
