Pain distracts
Slowly, we’re returning to a near normal existence. This evening, our annual general meeting for the community group was held. Six months late, but we’re dealing with things at a different pace.
So, what was of note? Nothing, other than the widely placed chairs and the threat of masks (we didn’t actually don them). About half of the group made it, and we have decided to carry on as if life was normal, until it isn’t. Remember, going back into shutdown can still happen, as numbers climb across the nation. Here, we live in a fragile bubble, that can burst with a poorly planned get-together. Not OURS, but you get the idea.
I had spent time preparing my material, this afternoon, but in the end nobody cared. We don’t want to talk about throwing people out of a small committee, because they were absent too many times. We now realize that there are more important things to consider.
My kidney stone has decided to get my attention, again. Makes concentrating on financial statements and decisions that “may or may not” need to be made into something trickier. I was distracted. Left my coat and wallet behind, so that’s something else to take care of in the morning. Yes, my guardian angel backtracked, but the door was already latched. I may have triggered things while trying to put away the garden hoses. Funny how it is always the little jobs that take the most out of me. Anyhow…
I’ll go to bed, and perhaps by tomorrow life will be better. Or at least, less distracted.
